Multiple trunks on calamondin???? (pics)

Hello everyone, this is my first post after many months lurking here. Previously I lived in Minnesota and being a garden enthusiast, I grew everything from vegetable to fruit trees. However now I just moved to Texas for work almost 2 years ago and lucky enough to have perfect weather for growing citrus which I love. A year ago I received a young calamondin from a traditional asian nursery as gift but this tree does not have one but multiple trunks which i think maybe suckers that were left to grow on it own. Reluctantly to prune it cuz 2 weeks ago, all the trunks blossomed again heavily with some mature fruits on it. I just wanna ask if it is normal for calamondin to have multiple trunks, I’ve only seen them with a single big trunk before. Thanks all.
