curtain suggestions?

I️ am not good at picking curtains. Can I please get a few suggestions as far as color and texture goes.

I find these curtains very harsh with all the other light colours. Also, as suggested before, make the rods a bit wider so the stack back falls off the glass. Pinch pleated drapes take less room to stack than rod pocket drapes.

I love your rug. You need artwork, lamps, tables, etc to make everything come together.

The room colors are grey, navy and cream. What color curtains and type of fabric will look best.

Black is not an accent color on the coach. I purchased those navy blue throw pillows to have some contrast and to match the area rug.

Thanks for the rod suggestion I will order a longer one.

I am working on the other decor in the room, it’s a work in progress. My next big purchase will be artwork but that seems to be taking me months to find one both myself and my husband agree on. In the meantime I am focusing on my curtains. I would like to get something nice up before thanksgiving,

I personally like curtains that are similar in colour to the walls. You could do a print with the background a colour similar to the walls if you prefer.

Would a print on the curtains make the room look too busy? I prefer not to match the walls because I may change the wall color sometime in the new year. The paint is a very light grey that is blending with the coach too much making it look bland and boring.

Try looking for French pleat linen and use rings with little pinch clips to hang the drapes. If you can find them locally get wide enough to cover 2-1/2 times width of span. Drapery done right, takes time so trying to slap something up fast will be an error. A color close to wall color and you might consider a decorative leading edge trim picking up some blue in maybe a Greek key pattern might be just enough. You might also look for “back rod pocket” type panels. A bit easier to hang. If you want light control, avoid “grommet” style. They take up more room and harder to get to hang right. JCPenney is a good source for moderately priced, fairly good quality drapes. Halfpricedrapes.com also good if you can get on sale. Good luck.

One more thought. Since your sofa is very contemporary and gorgeous you could do solar panels and not drapery. I will find examples and post when I get back to my desktop. They are panels that hang from a track you mount on ceiling. They are around 12-18” wide and reach to floor. The slide back and forth and are flat and sleek. Could you do a channel mount on ceiling? Or is this restriction?

No restrictions, I love the solar panel shades. I thought about them but decided against it because I prefer the way drapes frame the window. I agree a nice trim in the curtains would look nice but I am finding it hard to find something modern enough to go with the rest of the room. I think a Greek key trim is a bit more traditional than I want to go on the curtains. The walls will stay within the light grey family. I look forward to your examples because these curtains have stumped me for over 1 year.

This is bedroom application, but you can see how modern and interesting these are. I think they could separate in the middle of your window and slide to the sides if you wish. Check for local window treatment companies or I can refer you to one if you wish.

I like those blinds but am not a fan. I think I would still prefer some nice drapes. Suggestions if you have any. Thanks

West Elm has some really cute blue curtains that might look good with your rug.

If you want to stay with the navy these color block drapes would work.
