My husband built frames for our bathroom mirrors out of beech (I believe). So far, we haven't found the right dark espresso color of stain to match our cabinets. Minwax's "Ebony" is too black and needs a tiny bit more of a red/brown undertone. Chocolate brown stains are not dark/black enough.

We will apply a wood conditioner first to minimize the splotchiness that can occur with stain on raw wood. Any recommendations on brands/types/colors of stain? I'll include a couple of photos of our cabinets.
