The installation manual for your microwave shows to install the microwave and trim. If you do not have your installation manual, it is available online. Do you know how to use google?

The trim just pulls straight off. It uses clips to hold it in place

Like I said previously it is held in place by push in clips. Give it a good sharp tug and it comes off. or you can pop it off using a pry bar or screw driver if your careful to protect your cabinets.

after you pull off trim kit, how do you get the microwave out? I can't see any screws but yet, it would not just slide out. I need to replace the light bulb, but have to pull the unit to do so.

After the trim comes off there are 2 screws in the front bracket , at the bottom, that have to be removed then the microwave slides forward. It will make sense once the trim is off.

Did anyone find a solution to this?? I am having the same problem at my parents house. I cannot remove the trim piece to reset the circuit breaker.

There is a wrong comment by Jakvis. The correct one is below. The bezel trim does not just pull off or it will bend or break. Remove the two oven screws to the cabinet and pull the oven and microwave out together. Screws are behind the bezel.

John Grady is correct. We had the same issue and had to pull out the entire unit (oven plus microwave)

On a MCES microwave it comes off just like the instructions, I provided a link to, shows. However not all Thermador built ins are MCES units.

The MCES/01 also comes part of the triple oven/microwave/warming drawer combo. It comes as one piece. You must remove the complete assembly to get to the fasteners that hold it in. The trim on some models snaps on, but not on all.

Good info! Bought the $34 bulb so had to go all in on this one! Switched of the breaker, pulled the triple drawer oven unit out (onto a big old speaker resting on it’s side to match the unit base height). undid the two torx screws at the back bracket holding microwave to stove below, unplugged microwave from stove, removed face plate 4 screws from sides, removed side brackets, finally lifted microwave off! Fought with various fasteners including the two tamper-resistant 7/64 Torx screws with the bit I happened to have for this purpose (best not to ask) so I could get inside and change the bulb. Surely voided my warranty which long since expired, and knew where not to touch to avoid residual energy shock/damage. Popped in the new bulb, then tackled the massive re-assembly job. anyway, now I have light again in the microwave—Woot Woot.. Would not recommend, nor repeat this any time soon! There was some satisfaction when the light lit up again, but for all the hassles, I’d adjust my kitchen lighting to shine in the nuker if it ever goes out again. sigh.

Ran into this issue with the trim kit. Jakvis is referring to the standalone microwave trim kit. What is in the picture is the combo unit, refer to the manual for MEDMC301JP. The trim kit is connected to the oven. You can tell the difference because the trim kits shown in the picture does not have the Thermador logo. The MCT30E that Jakvis links to is for a different trim kit and has the logo on the trim (check ebay pictures). Almost broke my microwave trying to follow this advice and prying it. The problem is I won't be able to lift the oven/microwave combo by myself. So now i'm stuck. My problem is the microwave fan is starting to die. I'd like to replace the fan without paying $300 (labor) + $150 for the parts. The fan is on ebay for $50.

The information I gave was for the model number that the OP originally asked about.

The model you mention is a completely different build so it does not come off the same. For the MEDMC301JP you can see that the trim is connected to the M/W in the installation instructions. Here is a link to the instructions MEDMC301JP Install Instructions.

My recommendation, as always, is to look at the install instructions before trying to remove a product from the cabinet.

With your particular model the the entire oven and microwave combo needs to be removed from the cabinet to remove the microwave. Most appliance techs carry an oven dolly or a sturdy box to pull the oven out on to do this sort of work.

We have a thermador SEM302 with an MBBS/01 microwave that we replaced with a GE GCST2051W1SS. In order to replace it the process was rather simple but not obvious at first. Unlike other methods described here. For ours the trim kit surrounding the microwave is hinged on the bottom and is held in place with spring detents on top. To open grasp at top and pull to disengage the detents to swing the trim down. I removed this trim for easier access. Three philips head screws on the bottom. With this trim off you can see the microwave sits on and is mounted to a standoff. This standoff is held in place by three screws on the front bottom of the pan. Once removed the microwave and standoff can be slide out as a unit. But first it helps to remove the spring detents on the upper right and left sides of the cabinet opening. You will need help to remove it, one to hold it and the other to unplug it. It is simply plugged into a rececptacle in the oven. The entire unit doesn't not need to be pulled from the cabinet it sits in. Unless you have a stand to slide it onto this is difficult since the entire unit is very heavy and doesn't slide easily.

Once out the microwave needs to be separated from the standoff. Ours had press in plastic plugs that held to microwave to the standoff. I had to pry those off. Next the sheetmetal that channels the exhaust air to the front of the cabinet needs to be removed from the old unit. It is held in place with a few screws and double back tape. I used a heat gun to help remove the pieces and clean off all the left over tape. On ours the sheet metal to channel the air from the back of the unit did not fit. So I had to cut it to fit the back profile of the new microwaves. I used a jigsaw with a metal blade. It looks better perfectly fit but doesn't have to be if some foil tape is used to bridge any gaps. I dry fit it all before applying the mounting tape. Next the side vent pieces need to be removed by the same process and repapplied.

I did not try to mount the microwave on the standoff since there was no good way. It stays in place fine and allows the reveal around the unit and trim to be set easily.

I hope this helps someone with our model. It is a much cheaper fix than a direct replacement. I managed to take out about 30 more screws than I needed to in my journey. Don't do what I did.
