What pattern you'd use would depend on the size of the throw so you know how much material you have to work with and the size of the garment you want to make. Most throws are 50" x 60" with the most stretch going to the length but you'll have to test for stretch. The most stretch should be in the length of the garment. With those dimensions you'd have 1 1/2 meters of 50 inch fabric or 1.66 yards. Now that you know how much fabric you have to work with you can go looking at patterns. If you have 2 throws that have colors that go together you could both in 1 garment.

Really it is hard to answer your question with a definite answer. No one knows the size you would want it or the size of the material you have to work with. You'll have to use your imagination and find a pattern that will work for you.

Casa Carter coat made from fringed afghan! I have made several and still wearing since buying the pattern at a sewing expo in 1993! So easy, but a serger is very helpful. I think I remember paying $12 for my pattern, but you can get it at Amazon for abt $3.50+.
