llivingroom/ dining room

Please help don't know if this seating arrangement looks right. Also should picture or square mirror go over center of sofa because I already have mirror on other side above hutch. Room is approx. 23 x 13 feet , sofa 9o inches. Do I need another accent chair by sofa to make seating arrangement or will it be crowded with hutch? Any advice would be appreciated.

I don't know what you're calling a hutch. Usually that is a base with a display cabinet on top. Here's what you should do.

Move the the corner display cabinet to the opposite side of the dining window.

Move the big cabinet from the living room to the large wall in the dining area.

Move the short display to the spot where the big cabinet was in the living room.

Hang the art in the dining area over the big cabinet and flank with the two buffet lamps.

Hang the oval mirror vertically 5" above the short display in the living room.

Buy a piece of art to hang 5" above the sofa (no wider than 75% of the sofa's width)

Replace the buffet lamp in the living room window with a lamp that will bring the overall height of the table and lamp to 58-64" above the floor.

If the table crowds the larger cabinet, try turning the rug and dining set the other direction. No mirrors in the dining area - people don't like to watch themselves eat.

The corner piece I just angled there doesn't look right. If I move the credenza behind the dining table then it has only 3 inches to wear rug starts and when chair pulled out it is tight. Any idea for that square mirror or get rid of it. Also is arrangement with sofa/ coffee table and chair okay, do I need another small accent chair? Thankyou for helping .

So how about turning the table and rug? How much walk room would that give you? It would look much better with the cabinet flat against the wall if it isn't made for cornering. Have you tried it right of the entry door in the living area? Turning the table would be my first move. Then measure and see. You need 24" for chair scoot and sit space (on the rug itself) and then some walk space so people excusing themselves from the table don't have to disturb others. Mirrors need to reflect something beautiful or interesting. Where in the home do you have a location where it could do that?

Or... You might float the sofa and cabinet (behind it) facing the front window. with the chair in the corner right of the window. Then the tall display can sit where the sofa is now and the short one can go on one of the other walls or stay in the dining area. Hang the large art and another piece in the dining area and another pair of smaller ones flanking the tall display. The cabinet will serve as a sofa table and as a buffet when needed.

I put the credenza by table, not sure? Should I turn table and should credenza go all the way in corner ? Lamp in living room from bottom of end table to you of lamp is 57 inches.

I don't think the credenza looks good in cornet right? How about this for living room? Now living room looks empty by the little cabinet.

What about the tall cabinet to the left of the sofa in corner? Thankyou for your help.

Don't shove the cabinet into the corner. It should sit parallel with the table, turned or not. Then the big art will hang above it. Since you have baseboard heating, we'll have to work around that when positioning the tall cabinet.

This looks good, but do try turning the rug and all. Hang the large art 5" above the cabinet. That may mean bringing the cabinet closer to the living area too. We'll see. Push and shove is the best way to figure it out!
This is fine once you get the mirror vertical and 5" above the top of the display. Next we'll work on the sofa and chair positioning. If the dining room moves, this may all need to tweak a bit too.
