Robert

Robert:

I regret having to quit your solid surface repair at the burned out Dairy Queen today, but as I explained, I do not work on job sites that do not provide electrical power. This is a philosophical difference, not a technical one, as I turned down another sub’s offer of the use of his generator. I do not work on jobsites that fail to provide clean, private, and supplied bathroom facilities either. I’m not a particularly fussy contractor, but I draw the line at basic human rights at the jobs upon which I work.

As you recall, I submitted my contractor licensing documentation, my worker’s comp exemption, and provided a Certificate of Insurance as you requested before work began. You expressed comfort with a $600.00 budget range for this project. You have changed the conditions of our agreement and so have I. These are the conditions for my resumption of work:

1. You will send me a Certified check in the amount of $900.00. This will cover today’s drive time and the hour it took to wrestle the shelf off the tile wall to use for repair material and the original $600.00 for the repair. I will cash the check.

2. You will contact me when temporary approved electrical power, with adequate lighting above the bar area, has been installed and a working clean, private, and supplied bathroom is on site; in-house or Porta Potty doesn’t matter to me.

3. When I arrive at the site on our agreed-upon date, if my conditions are met, I will repair the top, refinish the top and the perimeter window sills to your satisfaction. If my conditions are not met, I will leave the premises; your check is non-refundable.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Joseph Corlett
