textured wallpaper/other textured wall treatments have been used with great success on all walls of rooms

feature wall makes sense when you want to frame something, maybe you ve got an opening, maybe the space is irregular in some way..then you pick another color/pattern/color and pattern

or you intentionaly paint walls different colors -hard to pull off but possible-usually you need architecture supporting that..and a plan. meaning you know very well what you're trying to gain

like, there are no rules set in stone, but the simpler the room the easier to treat it allover. or, say, already pick a mural for one wall, or wallpaper with print, but make sure it corresponds very well with the rest, and it's where you want it to be

here the change is so subtle i believe you'll enjoy it more allover the room. won't diminish the effect but would make it more enveloping. i think
