Opening up kitchen for entertaining

Hi there! I am keen to get some design advise from this fantastic community! We're planning our compact apartment remodel and are taking down a non-load bearing wall that separates the living room from our kitchen. If we open it up to the maximum capacity it creates an awkward, off-set, ceiling opening because the living room is vaulted and kitchen is not. The only options we've come up with is to have open shelving in the corner and somehow incorporate into the living room, create an archway, or picture window passthrough. There is an crawl space attic above this corner if the first pic. I welcome all ideas!

What do you hope to gain by taking down this wall? It looks like it will be "open to" a perpendicular wall! You won't even get more connected to the living room if that's what's behind the corner you think you need to keep closed. Are you sure it's worth the loss of storage et al?

Thanks acm. It opens up about 2.5 ft toward the living room, and it will also allows us to see the view and outside deck on the other side. The kitchen storage will be extended along the outside wall so it isn't a huge issue.

Can't really see well. Can we have a few more pictures?

One thought is - instead of taking the whole wall down, can you simply expand the pass through?

Great idea! We have small space, so I'm open to all kinds of ideas...even about the layout. This is my first time posting so I'll add few more pics in case that helps to visualize. We are currently in planning mode so I really appreciate your time!
