Master Bedroom Decor

We just moved in. I put up the short ikea curtains temporarily. Carpet is a grey multi color. I need some suggestions for the drape color, blinds color (not feeling the wood), suggestions for the walls, and the lighted wall- I have no clue what to do there. TIA!

I'd use lighted wall as an opportunity for narrow built in with different sized openings, that' will allow me to place there books/collections/art/maybe TV(I see though you have space for it already)

you can look it up vintage("wall system"..won't be very cheap, but will be reasonable)..will take time of course to find one that will be good for your opening there

or you can find a local cabinetmaker and customize it for your space knowing precisely what you want where. You can incorporate couple drawers, a space for tiny desk..the space is small enough for this job not costing much more than some generic new piece that will be much more obtrusive

    that's what I'd do

of course give it some consideration first..what you'd want/need in the room?

maybe you want just an art/a big mirror there, and a plant, and a pretty side chair:)

I'd put your dresser in a different room..maybe a closet if you need it nearby for storage..too much similar furniture (I know you didn't ask about it but it stands in the space you've asked about)

as for blinds/curtains..what's your budget? you can do woven blinds..I did mine in pale greenish color..but my window ,even though large, wasn't a door and was 400 plus (semi-custom..you give them sizes, they cut it for you..I think I used Smith and Noble? Check their catalog. Also Country Curtains is going out of business and they have huge sales now..so worth checking what they've got)..and I didn't do drapes on that one..window treatments are expensivw

    so will depend

you can go with white blinds. have a feeling will be the simplest thing to do. trim color..soft white..

fortunately there are many people here who're more knowleadgeble in window treatments than me so I hope they'll chime in too

I went custom/semi-custom twice in my life..so I obviously lack in that experience

you know your room, privacy concerns, needs et..do you need blinds? if no-you can do just curtains. Black out needed?

your bedding tells me you love florals..am I right? if yes-I think your furniture would look beautiful with florals. I'll find something -more bold or more subdued, more color or more texture..that would maybe have background close to your wall color so it integrates well but also provides lots of interest

if you're into solids, or wary of adding florals- I'd look into velvets, they're very sumptuous..if it's too heavy for you-into linen...

is there any color/s you especially love besides what you have already, and want to incorporate, or are you pleased with more quiet look? what's your style? what do you love?

will be helpful if you tell a bit more before we start making suggestions.

it's a very nice room, I can see lots of possibilities there.

love your bed..I'd bring some different materials as well, more fabrics(like a throw on the bed maybe)..maybe metallics..plants, for sure..art you love

Go to photos in Houzz and do a search of bedrooms, find a few you like and show us and we can get a feel of the look you want. The above one is stunning but you may prefer a more casual look. You have to steer us towards your preference.

Ohh my....my suggestion would be delicious layered drapery..with some rich grey velour room-darkening (for superb sleeping) and some accent sheer underneath and to add some color....

    like THIS:

Or perhaps Roman shades, outside mounted in a lovely solid, rich grey, perhaps banded in a coordinating color.

    Or perhaps Shutters!

Does the bed fit in the lighted nook?

I don't mind the grey curtains. But if you can afford to spend a bit more on the material and line the curtains as well I think the result could be very nice. The wall with the chest of drawers - have you though about maybe a different colour here. Maybe like the colour in this picture. The lighting would be more relaxed.

I found this picture on a website reflecting design

I love the wallpaper.... and the convex mirror.
