Happy Thanksgiving!

Sorry I've been absent for awhile! I poke my head over here every so
often, but haven't posted much. I was laid off of work on 9/1, so it's
been a bit stressful lately and have been busy getting the resume up to
date, job searching, etc. But think of my RMG friends often!

Hope all is well with all of you this Thanksgiving Day! How many more days until spring?! :D

Happy Thanksgiving to you as well (belated!) I don't post much on gardenweb this time of year either. There isn't nearly enough to talk about when everything is brown.

I did go to Pittsburgh last week and was pleasantly surprised there was still some Fall color, including quite a few beautiful Japanese maple trees in yards. My kid was quite annoyed with me saying, "that's a pretty tree!" He kept asking me which one. Um...the one that is fire-red! Duh!

Good luck in your job search. Hopefully with as many places as are looking for help right now it won't take you too long to find Your Perfect Job!

I don't know how many days till "spring," but at least it's less than a month till the days start getting longer again--maybe slowly at first, but at least they won't get any shorter!!!

Belated Happy Thanksgiving from me as well! Still working in the garden, the crazy nice weather we had over the weekend inspired me! Still have far too much to cut back and clean up, though.

I've been working in the garden...I've planted more than 600 flower bulbs this fall! Many of them are smaller "secondary" bulbs like muscari, glory of the snow, and Scilla that are only planted 2-3 inches deep. I also planted some late-blooming tulips and some allium to try and get a bit more color during the month of May. Any late-spring suggestions are appreciated!

Faith, I planted some tulip bulbs this year. So far, the squirrels have excavated about half of them. They didn't even eat them, they just dug them and threw them on the grass.

Boo for squirrels, popmama! We are strangely lucky in that I see squirrels in my front yard, but almost never in my back yard! And when I lived in Boulder I struggled with deer, but no problem with them here in (much more rural) Arvada. In fact, the main garden pests we deal with are rabbits. But my husband has been on a 3-year anti-rabbit rampage, and it seems to be making a real difference, much to my surprise.
