Nancy, I am glad you got one (two) too! It arrived looking great but it is one of the few trees that is dropping leaves by the handful indoors for me. I hope it evens out soon because its such a pretty tree i'd hate to see it looking so shabby for long.

Oh yikes Sammers :( So sad....but you have magic in your fingers,and will make that sweet lemon a beauty by springtime. I know it. Hoping that I might beat the odds by buying two under my usual lights. Will post how they do after a few months.

Mike, mine looked just like that and it was in the mail 8 days :/ I was super worried about it being a stick with a pile of leaves at the bottom but it only lost 2 leaves during transit. It did well out side for a few weeks but took the transition inside badly.

Thanks Nancy, I am sure it will work out! Good luck with your trees! I finially have some new growth on some of my other trees that showed no new growth over summer, weird that they just wanted to come inside and be under lights before they got going but I'll take what I can get.

:-) The first of two variegated lemon trees I ordered arrived today. Fortunately it was only in the mail for seven days, lost no leaves and looks robust. The down side is that on removing it from the packaging (and superb job of packaging btw) the root ball tumbled. Looked like it had been plopped down in the upper half of the pot, and roots were dry. No matter, soaked the roots, cleaned and it potted up- and will keep fingers crossed.

On arrival. Plant measures about 21" x 12".

The root ball that looks llke it was set on top of soil in the pot.

Here he is with citrus, plumeria and avocado family. The purple cast is an LED light. I use almost 100% T5HO lights but have a few LED's here and there.

Really pleased. If nothing else and it crumps after awhile, I'm thrilled with the way it looks now and will enjoy it while it lasts. Hate to be so pessimistic but what does one expect for $15 including shipping?

Next is a Minneola tangelo I ordered from Harris. Thinking about ordering a key lime from Hirts too. Anyone have thoughts about that? $35 including shipping, I doubt it would be much bigger than this little lemon. Thank you for all your help everyone.

Well....I bought Hirts' "cocktail" citrus, Meyer lemon and key lime together. Not so sure about it but what the heck.

I also purchased the variegated lemon from Target. How can you refuse a tree for $16 and free shipping? Mine arrived the same way - roots completely exposed, just sitting on top of the soil. It had a bit of inspect damage and curled leaves. I planted it and watered thoroughly. Although, I didn't soak the roots as the directions suggested. It perked up a bit and only dropped a few leaves. I watered it well again today. I think it will be fine. It's not the healthiest specimen, but it will be lovely eventually and as you said, what do you expect for 15 bucks? I'm completely smitten with the variegated varieties now.
