Water stains on marble

Is it a difficult and costly process to remove water marks from polished marble counters? I am considering purchasing a home where there are many stains and not sure if they can be easily fixed or I would be faced with replacing all the counters. They didn't take very good care of them.

That is an etching photo from my collection of permanent marble issues. Etching is the permanent dissolving of a small bit of the marble. Normal with marble. It’s the beginnings big of patina.

You can have it polished out. $500-$900. But it will just happen again. Becaus that’s just marble.

Should I have the marble sealed to prevent this in the future? I'm pretty diligent about wiping down the counters but others not so much.

You can't seal marble etch away topically out of a can. You can buy Antolini proprietary marble that won't etch for 12 hours or you can have these etches removed and the tops covered with Stoneguard, matte or gloss.
