No thoughts but ours is being delivered on Sunday and I am worried! we measured, remeasured, set up the family room but I'm still second guessing myself!

I was going to look into their return policy. It's very comfortable, but you're right. I don't like the back of it. Not sure what I can do about that.

I would return it if possible.

See the return policy first, if they can't exchange it or you can't find what you want-see if you can change it for a tan colour.

If not I suggest on each alternative seat you add a light throw over them to add some colour and brightness.

you also have to decide if comfort and height of the back override your design pulse.
is this the family tv room? what else could work? you probably already looked at a hundred choices.
Sometimes, comfort rules. and, furniture in a space where there was none, or something really small before,tends to jar your senses.
check the return policy, then take a little time to relax and enjoy your choice.

One thought if you can't/don't want to return it...is it possible to move the tv to the other side of the fireplace and then turn the sectional 90 degrees, so it sits in front of the windows? That might make it feel a little less closed off and then you only see one back side. We have a sectional in our family room and while it's not perfect design-wise, comfort wins for our main hang-out, tv watching spot.

We got ours on Sunday and while design wise it doesn't woo me , it is very comfortable and was the only thing my 6'7" husband fit semi-comfortably in and that my 4 kids won't ruin in the next 10 years. they are right...sometimes comfort will trump the perfect design. My style (low back, squared arms) is not comfortable for my hubby at all, so we had to compromise.

Why a sectional at all I never understand why anyone wants to sit all lined up in a row.And IMO recliner sofas are just ugly from the back always and are always huge in a space . Why not 2 sofas no recline a nice big ottoman for feet

It makes the room look crowded and pulls your eye to the sectional rather than your gorgeous floors and windows!

If you end up keeping it, you might get a slim console table to put behind one side, which would distract from the high/homely back, lighten the darkness, and also give you a place for a lamp and some room-facing decor.

I ended up turning it so some of it was in front of the windows. It opened the room back up which was my primary issue and the reason I didn’t like it. You can still see out the windows so it doesn’t block it off too much. My husband and 3 boys are begging to keep it. I appreciate the suggestions. I might incorporate some of them in hopes of making everyone happy.

Hi, mamatracy! I'm glad to hear you're feeling better about it. It's so hard to envision how something is going to look in your room (at least for me). When I add something new to my house, it always takes me some time to adjust because the reality never quite matches the picture in my head. And it sounds like your family is happy - which counts for a lot!

I would put the back of the sectional against the windows so it opens up the room more.

People will measure for the footprint but forget the height issue. They often don't find low profile sofas at the big box stores either.
