We're planning the remodel on our 1974 kitchen and I love my sink. It's a double stainless that is wider than average: enough to fit my most-used pans in flat. The problem? All three designer/contractors that I've talked to advise me that if I opt for any counter option other than Formica, it would be considered a sin to use this old sink rather than an undermount or other currently popular option. We plan to remain in our home for at least 8 years but are remodeling with an eye toward a lifetime kitchen with resale appeal. The first kitchen has lasted 40 years and we want the new one to go as long. The old sink has an elevated rim, somewhat stylized, but I can't find any identifiers on it for manufacturer.
