Building a credenza from plans

I'd like to find plans for a lateral file, or credenza, for my hubby who enjoys building such things. It is essential that the piece have a usable tabletop, and not be so tall that it tips when a drawer is opened. Also, it should not be mid-century in style, but more of a traditional look. TIA.

Two things. There are a couple of scammers advertising free woodworking plans. They provide stolen copyrighted plans. The most prolific changes the name often, but advertises 26,000(or so) FREE WOODWORKING plans.

The best way is to either look here or join a web site for woodworkers and ask there. Two good ones are WoodNet.net or Sawmill Creek.org
