Thanks Amy for reminding us about Perry. Do you know if the Cleopatra rootstock provides any dwarfing characteristics?

Hello Amy what a beautiful Shiranui and it's nice and large when it does decide to fruit it will be able to support some nice large ones . Here are a few fruit on my Shiranui that are still very green and growing

and the Shiranui tree , GH is a mess Sunday is cleanup day.. Amy maybe we can get Perry to come on the forum it would be great for him to get to know some of his customer's and all there wants . Amy by the way love your back splash we have exact same . Amy I have so many lemons and some are huge this one was at least a pound and a half . Here is part of the tree I cannot get the whole tree in the pic . and more lemons and I have some Satsuma's almost out of reach at the back of the GH . Brian

Hi Brian, Amy, Maggy ! As you know, I am creating a Friendship tree with the idea, that I graft different varieties of citrus on to one tree. If you don't mind, next spring I will be asking you for citrus budwood ( Shiranui, Gold Nugget and Lisbon lemon) to graft on my tree. The tree already has clementine and lime grafted on it (from friends). What do you think?

Laura, Susanne and other citrus friends from the US, you have expressed your willingness to contribute as well, I don't know yet how will it work out for us.

For the past 2 months the tree has not done anything above the soil, probably working on the roots. Just wanted to give you heads up :))

No problem sunshine . Not sure if you recall that I tried growing Shiranui seedlings for you and I think cf03 well that idea failed not one of the 5 seeds took a definite F- on my part .

Sunshine I have the Gold Nugget how mature does the branch have to be ?I have two tree's and they are young but they both are growing like weeds.

Sunshine, I just check my trees and I can also send a branch of variegated lemon, valencia orange, persian lime and meyer lemon but you will have the send me the specification on how to send it. Must it becwrap in something moist or dry. I am not familiar with that. I am still attempting to dry seeds to kvetchlambkin because everytime I try to dry them, I found some mold on them which it’s not good.

Brian, Amy, to send the twigs, you will have to choose mature twigs with 5-6 buds, not young ones that easily bend and not woody stiff ones, remove all the leaves, wrap them as soon as possible after cutting in moist but not soggy wet paper towel ( preferably each wrapped separately) and put all together in a plastic bag, secure them with something so they are not loose in the sealed plastic bag, label the day you cut them and the variety. That is what you do, but not now, my tree is not growing and it's better to graft on to it when it starts new growth again in spring. Brian, you win some you lose some. I've had little success with sprouting seeds too although got to admit I don't try very hard since I'd rather have grafted trees that will fruit sooner. I do have some Limone Rosso seedlings coming along but they're still at nodes 2&3. If they ever grow beyond baby size I'd be happy to send one to you and any other interested Canadian citraholics. I know they'd be going to good homes :)

Thankyou cf03 for your very generous offer you know that I would never say no lol. Funny thing cf03 I planted key lime seeds the year before with almost 100% success the Shiranui seeds the same way 0 % who knows , I will keep trying.

Mother nature's unpredictability is what keeps on our toes right? :) My 6 seedlings are like human children they're all different - two are lanky, two are short and stocky, and the other two are from a polyembryonic seed but fairly similar in size. It'll be fun to see how they all grow,

Hey Brian , thanks for the offer . I do have some C-35 i was planning to graft with so if Perry doesnt have any for 2018 I certainly will take you up on that offer.
