Is this a walkway? What rooms are connected? It is hard to paint a flow through area like this without considering the other spaces.

You did not say what your needs were for the space but additional storage and seating are always nice.

Replace the loveseat with a couch if it will fit. Add a 'C' table or two to the couch for computers, phones, drinks etc...

Yes this would be considered a hallway/walkway at the top of the stairs. It flows into one bathroom and two bedrooms and doors. I really love the 3rd photo idea

Lower the TV and get a console. That will take care of the cords. Add a rug to the space too. As for paint, it seems like it's open to below so painting this area may snowball into painting everything so hold off on that right now. Try adding some color through a rug and curtains first.
