I need to join your string party.

I've been thinking about doing that too and using the same color at a center strip. Maybe a New Year's Day project......

Have fun. I love string quilts. I've been collecting string quilt pins on Pinterest. Some of them are really gorgeous.

My centre strips are all the same, not a solid but a very light cream with a lacy pattern.

If we are having a party, I will bring the cookies.

I hope to do a string shortly, and I planned on the middle strip being consistent, too. I never planned on having a stash, it just sort of happened. So I do a lot of scrappy to use it up. Looking forward to seeing yours, Theresa. I'll bring some hot chocolate!

Here it is. It has turned out more square than I expected, so I may add another row to the bottom. But for now, it is going to be put aside, while I also think about a border or a very wide binding. And even though that centre strip is the same, there may not be enough contrast. But it is what it is.

I'm not much for scrappy, but both of these look good to me and I think it's because of the center strip - - - it really pulls it together.

Whoa, that did work together fast. Very nice. I hope to have a quilting bee in Jan or Feb. Almost all the ladies will be non-quilters, but I thought they could do this pattern.

Really nice, Theresa. I see what you mean about the contrast, but I think it still looks good. I’m sure you’ll come up with just the right border or binding.

Very cool...I need to try one of there string quilts to consume some of the scraps. I started making same hue string blocks, but then got side tracked and started another project....some day......

I went to a Victoria Finley Wolf class and got into "make fabric", so I tried it for the 3 hearts in this quilt. While the hearts turn out ok...what a time consuming project it was to make enough the fabric...not sure I'll do that again.

They look like hearts made out of crumbs. Very nice.

I think we have to try all sorts of projects to see what appeals to us the most. I did a curved piecing workshop once, (I liked the teacher) I don't think I would do another. And while I am doing string piecing, I am not sure about crumbs.
