Thanks, kristinhallett! I'm actually trying to find out if there is a way to display "first unread post" on a thread that I had previously read and now has new posts. Even notifications take me to either the first post or to the comment box.

I actually started (or tried to start) a thread on this, and it still hasn't shown up, so minor thread-jacking was the best I could do.

Are you able to get to the first unread post on any given thread? If so, how'd you do it?

--actually, I don't even see an option to sort, or a button or link just called "topic." I have Your Topics, which doesn't have a sort option, and I don't see anything for the specific topics (sub-forums) or for individual threads.

Since you were kind enough to reply, could you possibly post a screenshot from your view to show where this option lives?

I came in under Houzz, not under Garden Web, and I'm thinking that they have different layouts. Or something.
