It has happened again. I got too much! (Venting post)

I am about to be gone again for a while but I finally received an order I placed with a known seller here in Florida. Their plants are always nice, maybe a little leggy but always healthy. Their packaging and shipping is first rate.

I guess, in an effort to be generous, one of the plants I ordered and received was actually four plants.

Yep, the 4" plant that I ordered arrived as 4, 1" plants. Some here would be most happy with that outcome. Yeah, four for the price of one! (Rosie comes to mind.)

I don't like it. I wanted a 4" plant. I ordered one, paid for one and did not get it. Instead I got a half hours work disecting, repotting and labeling a bunch of small starter plants.

It doesn't happen often and I certainly don't want to upset the folks who were trying to do me a favor, but geez, stop already. I can do my own propagating.

After retiring from 30 some years of police work, I can tell you about complainers! Not complaining, venting. Its different!

Take it with a smile. Too much complaining - and you will sour all your AV soil.

I do understand your discontent, Jeff. You wanted what you ordered, not a bunch of smaller plants you will have to grow out. But, as Irina said, try to look on the bright side and roll with it. Is it one of the more complex hybrids or chimera? If so, console yourself with the thought that you have a better chance of at least one of them blooming true.

Yeah, Yeah. Im not contemplating suicide or anything like that. Yes, this was to be a relatively expensive sport/chimera plant. (I have read where it can go either way.) Now with all the turmoil and shock, I guess I will just have to wait and see what I get. Yes, I know, I now have much better odds at getting one to bloom true!

On the other hand, It is nice to know there are so many optimists in the world!

Awwwww, Jeff. So sorry you have too many violets,,,,BUT anytime you don't want them,,,,,,well just ask, and I bet I can find someone who does! On the other hand, maybe the poor little things needed a home, or maybe the packer was told "just get rid of the rest of those" or something and YOU were the lucky person! Geeze,,,,I would be doing the happy dance!!!! Always be grateful for small things, AND never look a gift horse in the mouth! (so said my mom and dad) Rosie

Jeff - you deserve to vent... Just do not start complaining. Creative cursing is better than whining!
