I have this wooden staircase in my house and i am replacing the carpet to a neutral gray color, Morning Fog by Dreamweaver. I was thinking to paint the staircase all white but then was suggested it's not a good idea woh little kids as it will show the marks very quickly.

I have looking at different options and came across the idea of painting just the spindles white and leaving everything else wood color. I have a rich maple color hardwood flooring.

My walls will be painted SW Agreeable gray.

Any insight if it will look good.
