    Soaking depth = how deep the water is when the bath is filled with water. Some tubs, like the Kohler Villager, have very low soaking depths, so a typical adult in one of those would only have the water come up to their belly button. A decent "soaking tub" provides a much higher water level so one can soak most of their body, not just the lower half.
