December bloomers - mostly NOIDs

I found one at Lowes with a name tag. I have good guesses for the other standards (all Optimara.) I have no idea what the minis are. Just happy to have so many flowers right now. I had trouble growing AV's until I read about chloramine on this forum. Now I run tap water through a pitcher filter before I water them. The things we do for plants.

Wow ... you got some nice ones.

Where did you get your pitcher filter ?

Thank you. I bought my pitcher and the filters for it in the grocery store, sold next to the bottled water. There are several brands. (Brita, Pur, Zero, etc.) Mine is Mavea. I've used Brita pitchers in the past and had a Pur faucet filter that wouldn't stay on the faucet. This color pitcher plus one filter was on clearance for the price of a Brita refill, so I decided to try the brand.

Nice flowers! I don't use any filters, but I keep water in the gallons (from drinking water) for 3-5 days before using for watering my plants, until the water will not have chlorine smell.

Thank you for the compliments. Let me clarify: the only recent purchase is the maybe-Michelle. You're looking at almost my entire collection which I have collected over time.

All so pretty Edie. Though nothing is certain with NOIDS, I'd like to hear what names you have guessed some to be.

You've got some great growing skills, Edie.

I see that you also have some moth orchids budding to bloom.

How many violets do you have ?

I can't tell if those purple and white blossoms are wasps. If they are, my name guess is what else...Hiroshige!

No wasps in Optimaras. I second you - Hiroshige.

I also think the purple and white is Hiroshige, so I'm glad to be backed up. The double pink is Ingrid. The big blue one has to be Montana. I'm less sure of the white with pink thumbprint but think it's Degas. There are several not in bloom. I have either MyLove or MyDream, a large star with purple center. Can't decide whether it leans red or blue. I have MyDelight and Tennessee. There's a bright solid pink I think is one of the States series, New Jersey or Indiana. I just did a violet count and have 20 distinct plants without including babies or crowns that need dividing. The minis did not have Optimara labels and were grown in Canada, so they could be anything.

Like that first one -- reminds me of a pansy flower.
