Something is wrong with my Brackets

So, first of all the counter sunk holes are on the back side of the horizontal piece (with the beveled end); this means the side with the counter sunk will be the side that is touching the counter top. I will be driving the screws in from the other side and it is not counter sunk. Second of all, why is the side with the beveled end used horizontally? There are only 4 screws placed in a square pattern with no screws near the other end (end near the outside edge of the bartop. Wouldn't I want screws out at the end also, it seems that my wood bartop could do some cupping if it were not attached to the bracket at both ends. I like these brackets but they do not seem like they were built correctly and before installing them maybe you can explain. I think I will run the horizontal piece vertically and not worry about beveled holes then I will have screwed support from the other leg that has 4 linear placed screw holes.

This L-Bracket that we manufacture is intended for stone countertops as per the description:

"Note: This bracket must be used with a knee or pony wall or inside a cabinet reinforced with a 2x6.
This support bracket gives additional support to your kitchen countertop especially when you have an overhang on a bar top that is deeper than the standard 12 inches or for a bar top which is very long and will be seating 4 or more people."

That is why the countersunk holes are on the top of the bracket to mount down into a kneewall or support board.

If you were looking for a bracket for a wooden countertop, we recommend the Regular shelf bracket or we can make a special bracket for you as stated on our website. Thank you.

thanks, I don't remember the description being that specific for granite/stone only, anyway, we are using the brackets with our wood slab countertops over hanging a pony wall and they will work just fine mounted externally, it was just confusing. Thanks again.
