The wall is right across from the kitchen. And the dining table goes right parallel to it. Not sure if a mirror would work here but I hate the way the photos are hung! Please help!

are you people all 7'5"?? good heavens. pictures are to be hung at eye level. that's usually 54"-58" from the ground. Ditto for that orange tree picture.

remove everything from the wall and take a photo from further back so we can see the room

If you want a collage wall, try something like this:

be careful w/this or else it can end up looking like a jumbled mess.

Excuse the mess, we’re moving around all furniture and decor. This wall/area is just a mess

I love picture ledges. Ikea has them for a great price.

The photos are high, but the can be moved around to create a gallery; why is the table off to the side, it doesn't look like there is any room for sitting at the wall?

    You have options!

Pulling all of your artwork in that space closer to eye-level will help ground your accessories and make them feel more intentionally placed. Consider bringing one set of the larger tree artwork over to create a gallery wall with some of your photos on your larger wall. This will help with scale- larger artwork on a larger wall- and create balance within the room. Moving the other set of tree artwork to the wall opposite the gallery wall will also help to off-set the visual weight of the other side of the room.

Best of luck with your project!

Search "gallery wall" in photos on Houzz. You will be able to see thousands of pictures of how to do this well (60,987 to be exact), and hopefully you will understand it all better.

Does anyone have any suggestions on somethingother than a gallery wall? Like artwork? Or do you like gallery walls by the dining room. Typically we move it out from the wall but I’ve been taking stuff down so used the table as a lift.

By gallery wall I'm referring to a wall with many different pictures hung up. It could be art or family photos, or sometimes a combination although I think that can be tricky to do well. I MUCH prefer artwork, especially in living rooms and dining rooms. I personally find that much more interesting than family photos, especially formal posed portraits. I prefer family photos to be either limited to a few or maybe arranged on a staircase or hallway near bedrooms.

Also I think single larger pieces of art would be great (instead of a gallery wall)

Since you already have them, how about removing the photos from that wall and trying the four tree prints there in a row? I'd center them with a few inch spacing between. Play around with the spacing on floor & also make templates out of posterboard and use painters tape on the back so you can move them around easily on the wall for visual help. I'd hang them (or whatever you would like on the wall) so the middle of the picture or total gallery arrangement 60" from floor up. It's going to feel super low to you since you're art is high but it's nice to be able to see the art more eye level. You could always take photos and post them here for placement help. If the tree prints don't workout I'd find some art you like and do some more templates or even just painter tape outline mock ups for sizing purposes. Knowing what size and how many pieces you need will be helpful so you can see an eye out or also to just stay focused. (I can sometimes get sidetracked when working on a project so I find this helpful...)

Where the tree pictures currently art, I wouldn't hang any art above the moulding.

    Very pretty flooring!

Even some of the examples are terrible! The smaller the pictures/photos, the closer to eye level they must be! Otherwise, they're just visual noise. In general, no photos above the height of doors and no small photos over sofas! You'd have to kneel on the sofa to see them!

I am really curious what made you hang those pictures and photos so high up. If it's honestly how you thought it was supposed to be, fine, but otherwise I feel like we are just being trolled.

Take all the hanging items down while you're rearranging furniture. The 5-5-75 rule will save you a lot of grief. Hang pieces 5' above the floor. If they hang above furniture, then 5" above the table, sofa or whatever. And keep the hanging piece above furniture within 75% of the furniture's width. None of your art should hang higher than door or window frames. Most Houzzers prefer family photos be hung in hallways or bedrooms (less public spaces.) The 4 pieces flanking your doors would look better hung together 5" above behind your dining table.

@zealart no one is “trolling” you. My dad decided to help and thought this was where the photos should be hung. I appreciate everyone else’s advice. I am working on finding some other art work to put on this wall, as I think there are too many photos in this room. Thank you those of you for the great advice. Does anyone have any preference on a mirror or like some panel art here? Just not sure what colors to do. I got rid of the orange tree art too.

Don't just place all pictures.....you need to accent and break up with some other pieces of art. See Beths photos which have letters, clock... or other knick knacks. See what pics you could use oval frame on.

If you want to hang a mirror, it should reflect something that you want to see twice...like a window or a piece of art. If you search for triptych art, you will find lots of choices for panel type art. It's hard to recommend art for others because we all have such varied tastes. But find something you love and build around it, if it's too small on it's own. Don't be in too much of a hurry. Your orange tree art could definitely be a place holder if you liked it, until you find the one you love.

Agree with decoenthusiaste to remove the photos and group your art across the wall where photos are now. The art should be hung so that the center of the art is 58"-60" from the floor--basically eye level.

If you're going to have a grouping of photos, consider reframing them all in identical frames or repainting them all white. Ikea frames are great. If you want them in the dining room, then hang them by the doorways where your art is now. I like photos on ledges or galleries in a hallway, but if they go in the dining room, they deserve new frames to pull them together.

Remove any other little stray art pieces or photos over the doorways--no point having stuff above doorways.

When things settle down, center your dining table under the light. Remove the piece of furniture in the corner. This will give you a clean look with lots of flow. When budget allows, get a great looking light fixture for over the centered dining table. That should be hung so the bottom of the light is about 36" from the table top for cozy lighting.

Be careful of hanging floating shelves behind a sofa....easy to hit your head on them, when sitting down. Good luck with your decorating.
