I can't remember exactly, but most likely anywhere between 2-5 depending on the available hardware. If available i use use two different sizes for doors depending on their overall height and then variety of widths for the drawers also depending on their size.

You would have to empty that trash daily or every other day to cut fresh food right next to a hole just inches above smelly rotting garbage seems pretty stomach turning. Who can fill not 1, but 2, garbage cans that fast and empties their kitchen trash bin every day? Not many families I would guess. Not crazy about this idea since the hole in proximity to the surface area for fresh food is a bit too close imo.
