Great baby quilt. Long ago, after unstitching too many bindings, I stopped joining the ends until I had almost finished sewing it down on the back. I also finally figured out that, since the binding is pieced, it could be easily shortened.

Did your hearts come from Keepsake? I had two packets of them that I have been slowly using up. The charity quilt I posted a few weeks ago was from them.

Yes the hearts did come from Keepsake. That's a good idea to not join the binding ends until the very end.

I never heard of joining the binding before it's sewn to the quilt! Mine would never fit if I did that. :)

Fran, your quilt is charming -perfect for a little one. Sorry it caused so much trouble.

I’ve always been too frightened to actually clip threads on a finished or soon-to-be-finished quilt. I use a small, sharp scissors. I pull up on the thread (putting tension on it) and just run the “V” of the scissors right to where the thread is coming out of the quilt. The thread is cut, but there’s no chance of cutting the quilt, because you never activate the scissors. I’m sure this method has saved me many repairs.
