I personally wait until spring so I can sow them late spring when it's getting plenty warm enough for me to grow them outside or at least in a sunny window. You may, as mentioned, use a heat mat with a dome and start them earlier if you like. If you buy them from Asia, keep in mind that they may take about three weeks to arrive.

Yes, I have Jeannies. I ordered 100 double whites from them as well as some triple pinks. I figured if most of them bloomed pinks that I didn't want, I'd have plenty of root stocks for grafting and wiring practice, or to give away as gifts. So far a fair number of the seedlings look like they /might/ end up being whites as they have no hint of pink or reds in the very green stems. But none of them have flowered yet so we wait and see.

Feedback from others who have gotten seeds from them have also had good germination but don't get your hopes up too high on the seeds coming true to the parent plants much by color or petal layering. Mr. Ko and Rinoa have overall far better quality seed if you want a better /chance/ at getting colors other than pinks.

Thanks for the information.....I just wanted to make sure the seeds are actually Adenium seeds that they seed. I quit going to Ebay for the longest time because I was getting seeds (for several types of plants) and they were not the right seeds at all.

It will be good to have a good percentage of germinating seeds. I like all colors of blooms....even the basic pink ones :)

I got in on some of the Ko seed auctions last night.....ended up with several purples and a peachy pointed petal one....Did someone say addiction:)

Christmas with the family was great and can't wait until spring!

Be warned that purples have something like less than a 10% chance of throwing seedlings that will also eventually have any purple in the flowers. It's the least nailed down color in adenium breeding so far. So don't be surprised if all of your purple seedlings turn out to be pinks, reds, etc - but you might get very lucky and get something stunning! Good luck with them! ;)

Gosh, Hyn! I am upset because I love purples (like African Violets color) and ordered some seeds, not much, maybe 5 of them. I think now I have less chances to get purple blooms :-(
