No single door. The proportions and style completely clash with the muntins below. The only way to do that is with a top hinge which is much too modern. Those 10” wide cabinets are going to be pretty darn useless as well.

Eliminate the itty bitty. Combine the top wall with the lower wall into a single transom cabinet. Muntins or not, your choice. But no mix. If you want a hutch look, do a back panel and corbels.

yes, the one single door at the top was going to be hinged at the top. Actually the 10" won't be useless :) I created them so I can put a pull out made my Vertical Spice and my husband can put his meds there. He always used to put them in the cabinet above, but now that the new cabinets will have glass, I gave him a space below :)) the one on the right will be similar and I'll have a spot to put incoming mail.

My first thought a couple years ago was to do the corbels, that was before my husband said no, I want to put my meds there which would have killed the glass door idea lol. I could always go with 2 doors at the top instead of 1, but then I thought that forces me to put 2 things to display at the top rather than one larger thing in the center, or even 3 smaller coordinating things in the 1 glassed upper.

I could also just go without the muttins on the 40Wx39H like I thought before.

or, the one on the right I can put bottles of wine lol, depending on my mood :D

I just spotted this when looking for upper lighted cabinets.

The top has no muttins, but the bottom does?

Maybe the style of door makes it work? although the upper is 2 doors not 1

ok, have seen enough cabinets with 6 or 9 lites and stacked 2 doors to convince me to change the door style on the top stacked :)

this should fit my 40"W, 39"W NS 35"w cabinets

Not sure the 6 light will work on the 30" 2 doors I bought back in 2012.
