I am remodeling my current kitchen into an open concept one with a new family room addition. I wanted the dining area to be big enough for a 48 inch round table with 4 - 5 chairs. I thought the builder had planned for this when I approved the plans. Now that the rough walls are up, it’s obvious that the 8 foot by 6 foot room will be too small. (I am lousy at estimating size and distance.) Now that I have this smaller area, what size table, either round or rectangular will fit with room for seating? One wall is a patio door, one wall has a window, and the remaining two walls are open to the family room and kitchen.
