Whether or not you use the fireplace often (and I absolutely would!), I think it is a wonderful luxury to have one in the master bedroom. In the area where I live all the houses were built in the 1920's. In about one out of every 20-30 houses, there are three fireplaces instead of one (the two extras are in the master bedroom and the finished basement). Those houses are considered so desirable that they usually sell on the same day they are listed (and for higher prices). We were outbid on two of them before we settled for a house with just the one living room fireplace. I still long for that MB fireplace we didn't get.

Bonjour, A fireplace in the master is always a good selling feature for later on, so the money is probably worth it. I always use mine. You did not mention, I hope it's gas, wood in a bedroom is so messy
