Shower stall

My husband is tiling the guest bathroom. The walls with the mosaic strip are ready to be grouted. I chose white tile and silver mosaic so as to complement the blue walls. I have changed my mind too many times about the whole project. Now I am second guessing the stone floor of shower. Is there going to be too much going on in the shower floor? Is the black competing with glass mosaic? There will be a frameless door added.
Also the toilet is white but the vanity is a cream to go with granite. Presently the old floor is a white but I am thinking of ivory for the new floor. Any thoughts?

Is the old shower floor still there? I think you will likely have problems if you have already done the walls; that's not the correct sequence of steps.

Not a fan of those stones on shower floors. Makes for a LOT of grout - and grout is not waterproof so it is the first thing that will fail in a shower. Then there's the whole "how do I clean my grout" conversation....

Hmm. He did the walls first so that when he grouted the walls, he wouldn't get grout on floor of shower. He is not taking up the old shower floor but going over it with an accommodation for the drain. I think with all the input, I will rethink the shower floor to something simpler.

No. No. No. Do not put new tile over old tile. That is not a good idea by any stretch of any imagination. If you want new tile, the floor needs to be demoed. And the bottom layer of tiles you laid will be ruined. And the the measurements won't line up with the new floor tile. You've created a million more problems but doing this backward. How was it waterproofed?

What the heck were you thinking, this is a water leakage waiting to happen. The floor should have been done first then the shower stall with that floor being installed first after of course ripping out and waterproofing the whole shower stall.Very poor tile install with slivers in the corner. I would step back redo and get a pro.

Hack job. Totally incorrect. If you can’t DIY up to TCNA standards, you should never touch it in the first place. It has cost you big time. That’s a leaking big mess. Gut it now. Or gut it later after there is more rot and mold and costs more to deal with.
