What is the potting media and are they in a dry or wet environment?

In my dry sunroom, I don't worry about keeping them watered for that amount of time. I find that they survive just fine. 2 months would be an issue, but a couple weeks would be fine.

Where are travelling in the USA?

The orchids are potted in bark and are in an east facing sunroom. I live in Ontario Canada. I am travelling to the Caribbean.

Yes! We love Provo. We don't own, but have been nearly every year since 2010. I think next year we'll be renting on Taylor Bay since access is now unavailable to non-residents. Enjoy your trip and don't worry about your orchids. They'll be just fine :)

So, each house that wanted access had to buy an easement (and key). Such a shame :(

When I go away for a week or more, I soak them well, group them all together on a few plastic trays, put about a half-inch of water in the trays, and loosely cover the whole lot with clear plastic bags. They're dehydrated and very ready for a drink when I get back, but keeping them together to increase humidity, and with the bags inhibiting as much evaporation as possible, it helps.
