Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Merry Christmas y'al!

Happy New Year, everyone! I watched the fireworks last night from a friend's 10th floor condominium balcony overlooking the St. Johns River in downtown Jacksonville. It was foggy and misty and just gorgeous! The fireworks looked like a blurred watercolor painting. Some of the buildings across the river have mirrored windows that reflected all of the fireworks. Looking toward the east in the distance, we could also see the fireworks at Jacksonville Beach. I'm looking forward to 2018. It's a great start! But we do have a hard freeze projected for Thursday night into Friday morning. I got away with NO hard freeze the past two winters... it was so nice to have plants all caught up with the rest of you Floridians... but it's almost a certainty at the end of this week... I will start the year with a yard full of cooked spinach!

I hope everyone has a great 2018 and everyone reaches whatever goals they set for themselves and their gardens this year!

Not looking forward to hard freezes here in NE FL but I think I have most everything that might die shoved into the gh and will fire up the gh heater if necessary. I hope the rain gives everything a good soaking before the freeze. The thing I hate worst about cold is the cold wind.
