I am a houseplant addict and lost a garden window in my remodel :(

so the kitchen window was a must, although the window overlooks a metal fence and my neighbors backyard so the houseplants will have to cover up the view :)

The granite is beautiful! And I really like your cabinetry , can you share what make it is? Thank you!

Just curious.... did that fit in a stocking or under the tree? Getting a rock for Christmas is so much better than getting coal!

yes that’s the backup slab since my original slab from a different lot broke during fabrication.

i am glad I kept it one river and all - and with ample hand holding from you all GWers.

I’m a quartz fan myself. Until I see a slab of River Bordeaux. Hands down, most consistently beautiful stone on earth. Enjoy! It’s breathtaking.

It looks great CurryUp. I love all the bordeauxs. My crema bordeaux is going in late this week or early next week and has a lot of the same colors and movement as your river bordeaux. Glad to see somebody else putting in something other than a white/white kitchen which seems to be all I see here.

Well you know it’s not at all blingy but it is classy ! Why settle for glitter when u have the gold right ? :)

Besides I am trying hard not to be nit picky and in the would -have-should-have frame of mind. Like the floor is busier than I thought , the cabs are redder than I wanted, the refrigerator seems like a long walk to my coffee station first thing in the Morning ! No no no , on that path lies disappointment.

Today we enjoyed the kitchen in the morning while my little nephew played cars on the island, the older kids where playing a board game right next to him, while I was baking breakfast rolls and my BIL was cooking eggs and no one was stepping on anyone’s toes or whining and complaining ....and for a moment in time all was harmony. That’s happiness :)

It's great! It's hard to judge when you are still under construction. Wait till everything is done & I bet you will be pleased.

Actually, I do have a gripe with the sink. I like the stainless steel and it is easy to keep clean (compared to my black silgranite that showed awful salt deposits) BUT

there is something not quite right about the angle of the sink base (got it from signature hardware). I have to chase the food particles into the drain with my sprayer, something I dont remember doing with my previous sink. I feel bad about wasting water so I have been using a paper towel to clean up any debris in the sink several times during the day........Now I feel bad that I am wasting paper towels ........ :(

barnaclebob : the round piece is my stand for oil/mortar/salt/pepper right next to the stove. At first I thought it was useless but now I like having a small rotatable piece at arms length :)

Please place a level on your countertop; front to back, side to side, and in an "X" fashion over the cutout. If your top is out of level, it may not be the fault of the sink.

Well, on a positive note Water is one of those things that actually don’t go away. The water you run in your sink was here when the dinosaurs roamed the earth and paper is a renewable resource. I hope we don’t have that issue with the sink. There doesn’t seem to be a lot of drop from edge to drain.
