I'd check Ikea, Bed Bath and Beyond, and any online retailers. You can even photoshop some chandelier you like into this photo just to see how the final product will look. Good luck!

What is the size of your table?

Check out ylighting.com, lumens.com, and lampuniverse.com. Lumens has "open box returns" that can save you 40-50% off the regular price - help your budget go further! I didn't see anything on Ikea that I would recommend. I'd look for a contemporary chandelier, maybe with some "bling" to it. I like to hang chandeliers about 30" off the table top.

Darzys' Capiz Pendant would be great!
Thank you all for the suggestions. It is an expandable table and the dimensions are 35"-70"W x 33"D x 29.9"H. Darzy, l really like the Capiz Pendant. Now that you know the table dimensions, is the size appropriate? Also, would l need to change the light fixture above the island?

Hi try Italian-lighting-center.com they buy direct from Italy and so cut out the middle man. You can also view their UK site Italian-lighting-centre.co.uk If you give them your table size they will calculate the correct size for you. Good luck!

Good luck finding a chandelier! I'm sure you won't have too much trouble..... Love the room(s)! Great job!

Love rm but need panels on windows end only. Try a black and cream print using rug design. Chandelier bigger for starts. Ck Lamp plus, Lowes, Home Depot all have something that would work hang 35" from table top.

This light is under $200 at Overstock.com. You could cover with another material ... I bought this same light and covered with a table runner that I found on clearance .. turned out beautiful!

I was also going to suggest the Capiz pendant from west elm
  • 13 years ago
I have the Capiz pendant from west elm, love it!!!!
I like very much the chandelier that Darzy suggested however I think it is too wide. Maybe I am wrong, what do you think?

    Table dimension is: 35 W x 33 D X 29.9 H
    Chandelier is: 30.5 W x 14.75 D x 15.5 H

I think if the table is kept extended then it would work.

I am curious to know the rule about chandelier size under a rectangle table. Can anyone inform me?

The Capiz pendant would look gorgeous . you have such a beautiful place! Love it!
Would it be possible to run the throw blanket under both pillows - the beige and blue one? I like it the way it is now, but it might look even better it it goes under both of them.
Wow, the Capiz is a winner. I always keep the table extended. Patti, I wish I had the skill to cover, knowing me, I will probably end up butchering it:) Travisinteriors, I am having a tough time finding the appropriate panels., do you have any suggestions? BeyondFrames, the beige pillows are sown to the chair. Since taking the picture, I have bought a blue throw and for the couch.

Kathryn, the Italian-lighting-center.com site has great chandeliers, but way out of my price range, however, I passed on the site to a friend who has since ordered:(

Ah, OK. It doesn't matter so much anyway. Your home is such a beautiful place.
As for the panels , I had a hard time myself a while ago and I ended up buying fabric from Jo-Ann and sew them myself. If you cannot do it or you don't own a sewing machine you could try the fusible bonding web.

I don't know why. I like your existing one.

Here is another linear pendant that is smaller (17" wide). Would be interested to see thoughts on size-appropriateness in reference to the table.

Here's some photoshops of the chandeliers that have been suggested. I like a lot the third one and the draperies as well.
Thank you all for the suggestions. Suzanne is it possible for you to add the drapes to the picture with the capiz chandelier. I really like that light fixture and I think that is what I will be getting.
What would I do with the other window on the right of the fireplace? I also have a sliding do going to the deck, do I cover it or just leave blank?
from the pictures I don't see enough of the other window but it seems that you can have the same draperies as the large window. Here's the capiz with the draperies.
Sorry for the draperies in front of the furniture ... it would be a lot of work to move them behind. Here's with drapeires on the other window.
Oops, I meant to put 2 panels on the large window

    Thank you much Suzanne.

What's wrong with one you have? I like it. Do you want more glam? Crystals and bling? You look is contemporary .

I love the one Susanne posted.

This one from ZGallerie is also very nice...I'm thinking a clear glass fixture will open up your space a bit.

I know this is old, but I just love the room! I would have loved to have seen our Drop chandelier that we make, done with clear front panels and multi colored side panels in a rectangular shaped chandelier (shown is clear with leopard sides)! I wonder what you went with.
