I think Grow Stones are similar, made from recycled glass. I get them at my local garden center.

MissOrchidGirl had problems with moisture distribution with the seramis and switched to leca. I just watched the video where she talked about switching today.

Why not check out Leca stones? The clay balls I use in my Hydro set ups, I think they're just fired clay.
