We are renovating a Pacific Northwest home that already has light white oak floors. Current trim package is medium wood tone. Designer suggesting we go dark knotty alder with the white oak floor. The home is in relatively forested area, so we're going with a 'sort of' rustic look. But we don't want to feel like we live in a cabin either. I've attached a link to the entry way (pre-purchase) that includes the hallway. The folding doors will be replaced by built in drawers with half closets above.
