I am still looking for a manufacturer who is willing to construct a light with an angled shade which allows the light to be pointed outward up to 45 degrees while still hiding the view of the bulb from the street. This design would be less likely to be mis-used by throwing glare outward at pedestrians, drivers and home windows. If shielded lighting using sane intensity warm white to amber LEDs were to become the norm for home and security lighting, we could stop the loss of sleep, the night time environment for nocturnal animals, and the loss of the stars for the next generation. And it would be far more beautiful than the harsh prison lighting being installed all over the US which blinds rather than illuminates.

I use the attached bullet light under my eaves for even patio coverage with no glare, but as is often the case, it is not pictured pointed so the shield is horizontal to the ground to create this beautiful effect.
