Ice buildup

This morning I noticed it was colder than normal in the house, so I checked and the air coming out of the vents was only 70 degrees. I looked outside at the unit and saw some ice buildup. Outside temperature is in the mid 20’s right now. I took some pictures. Is this normal? It’s a Lennox package unit installed in April of 2017.

Presumably the system is a heat pump. Yes, icing is very normal in cold, humid weather.

depending on outside conditions, ice can be normal. however supply air temp of 70 degrees is not normal. You may have a refrigerant leak. Compressor is engaging? Condenser running continuously? Aux/supplemental heat coming on?...inside thermostat setting being maintained?...package unit going into defrost mode?...

According to the label,unit didn't come from factory with electric strip heaters. It's common for contractor to install strips in the field. If your t-stat has emergency or auxilliry heat setting,set switch there and see if hot air come's from vents. It it heat's,I'd stay on emergency until someone can come out to check it. If you can't afford to have someone check it and tempature is expected to rise above freezing soon,just stay on emergency until ice melt's. After ice melt's,set it back to pump. There's a 1 in 3 chance it will work ok until next freezing rain event.
