I vote for the first one, too.

Teeda, That’s my favorite too. And thank you for the little tidbit about how high it should be, I did not even think of that! I took a measurement because the specifications say it is 34 inches high. The very top of the back of the couch is 31 inches high Darnit but the pillows or I should say the back cushions on the couch come up higher so the table would be a bit lower than the top of the cushions but only by an inch or so. Do you think that’s OK? I really like that table.

I like the first one too. What table is that? Do you mind sharing? Thanks

Yes to the table and definitely get that first one, it's perfect for that spot!

Virginia, I looked around a bit on different sites and the general sense is that the sofa table should not be higher than the top of the frame of the sofa, however one designer said it could go as high as half the height of the back cushions. So you might be able to make the first table work. Another thought is to raise the height of the sofa a bit. Would it be possible to have some simple tapered block feet added? They're easily available and come in lots of different shapes/sizes.

You need it at or lower than the sofa frame ... you don't want someone to throw their head back on to the cushions and smack their head on the table.

I personally like the second one...bulky but not as high as the first or third. Would you consider a glass/wrought iron table there? I bought one at Lowes a couple of years ago and really like it a lot....mine came with two lamps.
