You might want to consider painting the trim white and leaving the cabinets. Definitely leave the interior doors alone as wood doors have more value and are easier to upkeep then white doors. Wood paneled doors look nice with white trim. It is also a lot less expensive to paint trim.

If you want to paint cabinets, then probably go with a white if you want it to work with the trim.

I have white trim with wood cabinets and doors and recently refreshed with new counters, backsplash and apron front sink. It is more of a vintage style, but the surfaces are flexible style wise. Some pics of my kitchen in my "my pics" idea book.

Hi Julia, I have a link to Wolf Classic- one of our affordable lines. They do a nice white or ivory if that is something you might be interested in. You could also add a different colored Crown on top of the cabinets to make it look finished and to also tie in some other color- what you would like to use on the island perhaps.

Change wall color right away. Then work on new island. These are: an easy thing and then the thing which will change your space. Other choices will follow in line.

I would suggest a fresh coat of paint on the walls, and maybe painting the trim white as well like others have suggested. Your cabinets however look lovely and I would never paint them in my opinion.

Painting trim is much easier than painting a cabinet. Cabinets generally have a special protective polyurethane coat on them (at least our cabinet lines do). Doing a different colored island would be a lot less expensive than re-doing the whole kitchen! Also, new counter tops would make a huge impact!
