I had my contractor build one into the back of a drawer in the kitchen island. He had to put a tube at the back to make sure the wires didn't get pulled or tangled when the drawer opened and closed, but it worked great. I liked having all of my devices charging without having to look at them sitting out.

Lots of people install them in kitchen drawers, or they run hidden power strips directly under cabinets. Some examples:

We have a charging station in our walk in closet , and the hand vac charges in the laundry room. IMO kitchens have enough stuff going on without anything else needing to be in there.

Just set your device on your Corian.

We charge in the family room, where we have end tables housing all the surge suppressors and cord organizers. However, even putting in a USB outlet so that you don't have to have the blocks can make a big difference if you have a small counter that serves as a natural charging spot!

Combine that with an upright rack for phones and tablets, and you've saved a heap of household sprawl.
