I was reminiscing today with an old co-worker from back in the day. We both worked at the same family owned greenhouse. We were both remembering another co-worker. This particular guy was a jack-of-all-trades.... Anything you needed done he could find a way to do it. Whenever something in the greenhouse needed a repair or we needed somethIng built... This was the guy to go to. He had a habit of swearing to beat the band... I don't think I ever heard him utter a sentence that didn't have at least one profanity in it. I really don't think he realized how he sounded... It was just his way of speaking. When he told a story it was always fascinating to listen. Believe me, I learned a few new cuss words working with him! Getting back to my original story....

One day, shortly after I started working there, a woman came up to the desk inquiring about planting bulbs... Tulips, daffodils, hyacinths, etc. She had never planted them before and wanted to make sure she was doing it correctly. I was just finishing up with another customer when I heard my co-worker begin telling said customer how to plant bulbs. "Bulbs ain't hard to plant... You just take a good sturdy shovel, dig a goddamned hole about yay deep and throw those sons of bitches in!!" After that poor customer regained her composure she looked at me and, stammeringly said..... I, I, I.... I think I can manage that. And off she went with her bulbs. I have to wonder if she ever told anyone about that experience?!! LOL
