It does look similar but also looks more like a Hosta. Sans has a stiff hard leaf and similar growth habit. Are the leaves soft?

While that looks strikingly familiar, I can't quite figure it out. It's definitely not a hosta, hostas usually have distinct petioles. It's not a dracena, they have skinny leaves. Doesn't really resemble any other rosette type growing houseplant that I can think of.

Stush, I'm not sure if its leaves soft like hosta or not because I'm not familiar with hosta. What I can think of maybe the leaves is more like a peperomia.

Rob, first look it appears more like a birds nest sans. But the pattern on the leaves is so unfamiliar.

It did resemble peperomia to me more... Just couldn't find a variety that matched it.

I've been doing a bit of google on peperomia but nothing resemble it. The way they grow definitely not the same. So do hostas.

If it is a sans then it is quite interesting as I haven't seen any like that before. Even in google.

Stush, I'm from Malaysia. I'm not going to start with hostas or peperomias because of limited space. So far I have a few sans, dracaenas, haworthias, ferns, ficus and aloes. Now I want to be more specific to aloes collection.

Where is the photo from? Were you there? Can you ask the Vendor (looks like a Seller's setting).

Not sure who suggested Peperomia, but that's not their growth habit, they don't grow in rosettes like the shape/form shown in the pix.

Yeah, I'm not overly familiar with Peperomia, it just looked similar to me. I couldn't find anything that resembled that plant in either of my houseplant books.

Relative of Callisia fragens??? Maybe.....

Sorry, but no, not that family either, tho' they also grow in rosettes. I've grown Cf, it's not that. Pls. search some pix & you'll see none that match.

I'm w/ Stush's earlier idea of a Hosta of some kind.

Karen, it's good that you post it there (I hope it is not a sans so I don't have to buy them). Btw I also search for hosta and none of hostas pic match this one. Haha.

The way of garden center here maybe different from yours. They rarely label their plants. At least the garden center that I have been to.

It really does resemble a lot of the dwarf hosta though. The exact shape of the leaves is what keeps me questioning.

By the way Karen, I could use advice on cf. I will post a pic on the houseplant forum tomorrow. HEHE.

Definately not a Hosta! I have a hahni Sans with similar color but I don't think that is it either. Leaves look too soft and don't see the leaf tips of a Sans or the way the newest leaves cup. Stush I love seeing your Hosta pic..............it has been such a cold week I look forward to Spring!

Young hosta grown well does look very similar but I also didn't think it was only that it reminds me of one.

Callisia fragrans on the internet does look exactly like this but not that color scheme.

Again young well grown plants. But may not be the ID we're looking for.

Very different looking than the original plant of inquiry.

These are the Callisias, sometimes referred to as Inch Plants.

The name Wandering Jews refers more to the more commonly seen silver green top leaves & purple underside IIRC.

Thank you Karen. I did hear that name (Wandering Jew) used on more than one plant before. That's the main problem with using common names. This was one of my first house plants and still love them today.

I've always heard that slur name for Tradescantia. I prefer not to use it but it is what it is.
