Spent my afternoon at SW and this custom trim/door/vanity color is 1/32.4 off from SW “Polar Bear”. Looking for a warm tone that would coordinate with the tile and trim yet freshen things up. Also looking to replace the vanity counter top as well.

I’m not a designer but my first though was to maybe go @ bit darker on walls, more of a taupe colour. Your photos look a bit yellowish, maybe it’s the lighting. My advise would be to pick vanity top first because it’s easier to adjust paint colours. Here is an inspiration photo close to what I’m suggesting for your bathroom.

@MarleneM it is yellower/buttery ☹️which is why I’m struggling so much with finding something. I want to love gray/greige, but deep down I’m a warm Taupe girl I’m finding. I like your inspiration and the idea of something a little darker. As far as a counter top, I like the Carrera marble look or a light granite but I’m open on those too. Thanks for your help!

Polar bear from SW. it’s very similar to Navajo White from SW as well. Same buttery color and it’s my trim/doors/vanity in this bathroom. *Bathroom gets no natural light.

Sw mink is the darker colour, lighter bathroom is BM Revere Pewter, also sea salt is lovely

I actually like a darker tone. it's hard to pick from the monitors and because it looks like your lighting has cast a yellow tone over the tile. get a few samples that you like and bring them back to try.

@Irene Morresey @Beth H. thank you. I did try the BM revere pewter and it appears very “whiteish” if that’s a term. Lol! I know it’s such a go to color for so many that I was thinking about getting some form core board today and painting different samples on it. My concern is that my current wall color which is SW Macadamia is messing w the true colors of these? Beth H. It says you’re a “PRO”, when you come in and are trying to pick a color, what are some of your first steps? I love interior design but picking a paint color is not one of them.

I tried to take some more angels this morning but I’m not sure the light has really changed? It’s an interior room w no natural light. My plan is to change out the counter top to a lighter granite, new brushed nickel mirror with clean lines, transitional brushed nickel light fixture, rectangular sink, I have a new faucet ready to be installed which is the Delta Olmstead. Pulls will be the “T” brush Nickel pulls. My thoughts were to paint the vanity SW “Navel” and then I need to determine the wall color still. Am I on the right track? Thoughts/Suggestions?

Love navy vanities, maybe with the beige tiles, you need just a deeper beige wall, I would perhaps go with bm van duesan blue, more of a slate blue. Paint that first and decide on wall colour. The idea with test pots is to paint it on a big board, it's so deceiving putting on wall next to other paint or on top of

check your bulbs. see if you can get some cooler temperature bulbs, say, above 4000K or so. that will take away the yellow

if you're doing a navy vanity, then go light on your walls. Ideally I'd like to see the floor tiles changed to something in the white range. Having those beige tiles, grayish walls, blue vanity and then a white countertop, is a lot going on. the photo Irene posted above looks great but that counter won't go w/your flooring. In almost all photos w/navy vanities, the floor is white of some sort.

the vanity looks good the way it is. any idea what kind of countertop you want? you should really get that first before painting.

are you doing anything w/tile in the shower? will you be doing anything w/the wall once you change your mirror? will you be doing a mirror similar to this size? would you just paint the wall like here?

what do you think about taking down the wall between the toilet/vanity? or at least taking it down to a pony wall? is that door a must? it will really open up that spot considerably.

@Beth H. Those are such great visuals and things brought to the table, thank you! I’d love to do it all, would do it all, but we know we’re moving in 2 years (husbands job). Our house also is the newest house (10 yrs old) in an older established subdivision. It’s got tons of curb appeal and will sell but with that in mind, we need to be mindful of what we put into it, because we’ll probably break even. this is more of a “I love design and would like to refresh it” then anything else. If I could, all the tile would go and I’d break down the wall. However, with all the said, I feel like I better refresh rather then redo. To answer some of your questions...mirror: I will take down the sheet mirror, paint all the walls and was thinking of the replacement mirror looking similar to this. The wall is 60” wide and this mirror is 40”x35”. I also plan to replace the lighting fixture (don’t have one in mind yet) Moving down, new counter top which I’m going to look for tomorrow. I had this one in mind or something similar. I’m open again to suggestions. Sink will be rectangular, and new faucet (Delta Olmsted Spot Shield Brushed Nickel). For the Vanity, I don’t have to paint it, however there is some residue from the previous knobs that show a “circle” around the hole. In an effort not to strip the finish (I did that in my laundry room using a mr. Clean eraser ) I thought painting it would solve that. If I can figure out a way to clean that residue, I’d leave it.

@Irene Morresey thank you Irene, great visual. I picked up 3 Huge form core boards yesterday and will start painting some larger sample colors on them. I picked up Accessible Beige as well and thought I’d start there. My closest BM is 2 hrs away which is such a bummer because I love there colors. I did make the drive for Revere Pewter awhile back being convinced it would be “the one”, but not so much. However, I may paint it again on the white and see where it takes me. I do see Beth H.’s concern for taupe floor/Navy/white etc. I hope to get some counter samples tomorrow and see where I get with those. I will look at that Slate blue color as well. I responded further to Beth H. So be sure to read those comments as well. Thanks for your help, I sure appreciate it!

@Beth H. On second thought, I am going to really look into opening it up and removing that wall. It would be mostly demo. And just wall patching/painting which we’d be doing anyways. The vanity is built into that spot so it’d need a side added but I know who the cabinet maker was and perhaps that wouldn’t be much?

pilot, if you can do it yourself, absolutely. you may have to run some electrical wires since I see a switch on the wall. but yes, taking it down isn't a big deal. as for the side panel, if you're getting a new counter, see if there is enough left over to bring it down the side for a waterfall. Or just get a side panel from the cabinet guy. either one works. and your warmer, golden tones look nice w/the flooring.

Wow ladies! I have learned so much today! Never paint on your existing wall color for the real look and feel of a true color! All I’ve heard is Revere Pewter for years and how great is it. I finally got it, tried it maybe 6 weeks ago and was so sadden to find it was just such a cool color for my liking. Today I painted it on foam core board and check out the difference! massive difference!
Yes Beth H., the shower side actually have 4 switches too that would need to get moved. I hear ya on water fall and will look into that. I’m hoping to find a pretty piece of remnant. Thoughts on if I can’t get this knob residue off with regards to painting/leaving the vanity?

Up next to the shower tile. What color would you paint the ceiling? The trim/doors/vanity are essentially this light color on the RP color strip. Would you do the color in the middle for the ceiling, all RP. Painting is so not my thing, what’s the rule for ceilings? This house has walls and ceilings all the same color. It doesn’t bother me as much in rooms w crown molding, but bothers me in rooms w no crown.
