Buffet and seating problem

My dining room is not a priority room so I'm taking my time to figure it out. Buffet and table were purchased for another home and will be staying (because they were not cheap and I love them).

There is not enough room to have the buffet and chairs when things are centered. But there is if I offset the table closer to the wall to the kitchen. The light will go for sure, but is it reasonable to adjust how it hangs and have the table not symmetrical to the room? Should I just rehome the buffet and find something smaller for the corners and leave it all centered?

In my defense, home was a foreclosure, just happy to get paint on walls, lots of expenses, trying to plan long term and do a little as I go and keep my eyes peeled for deals along the way.
