Hi @markhcooley, this rose has been on my wishlist and I am in LA area too. How well does it repeat for you? How does it handle heat?

The Albrighton Rambler repeats very well for me. The repeat bloom is never as prolific as the spectacular first bloom, but it always seems to have some flowers on it until it goes dormant in winter. Sometimes I look out my living room window and think it's snowing . . . except that it never snows here in Oxnard. Here is a photo of the whole plant growing on my balcony.

P.S. I just noticed that you also wanted to know how it does in the heat. Heat has never been a problem for it, but I live at the north end of Oxnard's Channel Islands Harbor, and it seldom gets hot here. If you are in the central L.A. area, heat probably won't be a problem at all. If you are in a hotter area like the San Fernando or San Gabriel Valley, I'm guessing that you'll have some days that the petals get wilted, but the heat probably will not harm the health of the plant. I am speculating, so you might want to refer this question to someone who grows Albrighton in a hotter climate.

Gorgeous! Is it fragrant? How are the thorns? Do you normally get blackspot?

The Albrighton Rambler is not fragrant. Thorns are about average. My Albrighton has had zero disease, and I've never sprayed it. When roses get disease where I live, it is most often either rust or powdery mildew. Blackspot is not common.
