I do have Baronne from ARE and I think they have the right one. I will look for a photo.

I am wondering if the plant you grew with your grandfather was a different one. Colors cream and buff could be other Tea roses.

Cream and buff could be Adam, Mrs. Dudley Cross for example. I did get a rose from ARE that was supposed to be William R. Smith that I am pretty sure is Marie von Houtte. It flushes pink which is unlike WRSmith. The multiple photos on HMF rose site do have some paler photos in their Baronne HSnoy folder. Weather can affect Tea rose color so much too. This rose ID business can get complicated. My Baronne from ARE is one of my largest most robust Teas.

The one my grandfather grew was exactly like the helpmefind main photo. I learnt from him that it was a Dijon tea .

I do see some pink photos but also a lot of buff photos . does your baronne show buff color in spring and then change as weather heats up ?

That photo looks paler than my Snoy's flowers are.

I got my Baronne Henriette de Snoy from Roses Unlimited in 2002. I don't recall it ever being particularly buff colored over the years, although maybe there were outliers that I'm not remembering. I have only one pic of it, and this is pretty much exactly what it has always looked like. Hope this helps :-D

@susan9santabarbara thank you so much . Its probably similar to the ARE one . This makes me believe over the years there are probably 2 different ones . I doubt in US we have the buff version . I have seen the buff in Europe

@Abhishek Dasgupta I don't know if this information is helpful, but I had a Baronne Henriette de Snoy from Angel Gardens for a brief time. My recollection is that it was a very light creamy pink and it never got to a saturated pink, but it was a young quart sized plant and only lived a year. I'm gardening in a hot climate with nights that stay hot which might also have made the blooms stay paler. I unfortunately don't seem to have any photos of it. Anyway, Pam at Angel Gardens carries it sometimes, you could contact her if you haven't and ask if her version gets very pink.

Here's mine from Reverence for Roses, kind of silvery pink, but not as apricot as the European ones either. It died a while ago though, sorry for the fuzzy images.

Abhishek, Adam is a Tea that is more buff in color. I am going to look on HMF roses photos at that one.

I've looked at the photos and some are pink and others buff on that rose too. Mine are more buff than Snoy. I got my Adam from ARE also.

My plant of Baronne Henriette Snoy came from a sale at The Friends of Vintage Roses, it does have the lighter color sometimes, and these pictures are from the same plant. It tends to be a more flesh pink and I think the buff tones might emerge most often in mild temperatures. One of Baronne Henriette Snoy's parents, Madame Lambard, is known to shift between a variety of petal color combinations, and so it was collected from sites under a variety of study names that turned out to be the same rose. Hope this helps.

@Sheila z8a Rogue Valley OR am planning to get Adam although am not sure its the original one - the first tea . it looks Madam Berard to me when I saw it which is a superb rose .

These posts made me curious, so I looked up the entry for this rose in a 1957 Roses of Yesterday and Today catalogue I have. Will Tillotson describes the flowers as ”peach-pink, shaded cream”:

(Or more accurately, Tillotson quotes the grower in Georgia who sent him his starts as saying such!)
